'Thalassophiles', is a large contemporary artwork featuring three female figures standing on the beach. 
 
Beach Culture is deeply entrenched in human nature and Lauren Esplin's contemporary paintings explore our connection with the ocean and eachother. 
 
The artist expresses her impression of this coastal environment with emotive markings, abstraction and her intuitive use of colour. 
 
Sandstone pinks, dove greys and soft verdigris tones form a soft background, while the colour of hot sun on sea-splashed skin is finely realised in perfectly created human form.
